While living in Shreveport, Louisiana I was in a movie
called FATAL JUSTICE.
The movie starred Joe Estevez (Brother or Martin Sheen, uncle of Charlie Sheen
and Emilio Estevez). Thanks to this movie I now have my VERY OWN FILMOGRAPHY
too!! What more can a guy ask for?? Anyway, here is the story behind how I
got involved in Show Business. My co-worker and good friend Ray
Huckeba worked part time in a Shreveport bar called The Blind Tiger. One
day before the bar opened for business, Ray went down to pick up his weekly
check and in the bar was director Gerald Cain talking with the bar owner.
Seems Mr. Cain was going to be shooting a movie in the area and wanted to use
the bar for some shots. Well Ray was down there in his uniform (We were
both US Air Force) and was noticed by Mr. Cain. He asked Ray if he and a
couple of his buddies wanted to be part of his upcoming movie. They were
looking for a few GI's to play CIA assassins in training. S o Ray came back to
work and spoke with myself, George Garcia, and Marvelous Marvin Mullins.
We all agreed and expected to march by the camera or what-not. So on the
particular Saturday we went to the location they were filming. Needless to
say we all enjoyed a couple (cases) of ice cold brews once there (We got tanked
in other words). Well we sat around awhile and spoke to some of the film crew,
then we were handed scripts. We were like "What are these for?"
and were told "You guys have speaking parts!" S o after looking
through the scripts and seeing we had NUMEROUS lines, the stomach bugs started
swirling. We actually had a lot of lines. There was little
preparation and no practice shoots, which made it a little easier on us
(Uh...right..). I was known as Cain...OK, I was known as Trainee #1, Ray
was Trainee #2, etc. I'm not sure if FATAL JUSTICE was nominated for any
type of awards, but it was a Block Buster NEW Release hit for a couple months.
Originally it was ONLY going to be released in Overseas theaters (That's what we
were told anyway) but miraculously showed up at Blockbuster 1 day. Keep in
mind the film was shot on an approx $25,000 budget, and was one of the
highlights of my life. We shot 12 hours on a Saturday and 12 on the following
Sunday for maybe 10-13 minutes of actual air time? Gave me a WHOLE knew
